Living in the forest here in Brown County Indiana, the view is just spectacular! I love attempting to catch a bit of the nature surrounding me with the art of wood burning.
I call this piece Two-Fer because it is, literally two pieces of art- one on each side of the wood! By far, these are my favorite pieces. Jon Eric (the hubbie) made special art shelves for me to add pictures and remove/change them around without all the holes in the walls! So, this one can be displayed on either side....unique!
The "Two-Fer" piece measures 18 1/4 in. x 7 1/4 in. and is burned into pine wood. I utilized the natural knots in the wood as you will notice. The touches of color are a newer technique for me. I used stains and pencils to add just a bit of color. The piece(s) are then covered with a light, transparent finish to keep the color and wood protected.
